Radio King Maina Kageni has revealed he stole his mum's car at only age 12.

He was reacting to a viral story where a 9-year-old was caught driving his dad's car on the busy Mombasa Road.

When signaled to stop he accelerated prompting the police to chase after him.

"Do you know I stole my mum's car at age 12?" Maina told Mwalimu

Asked where he got the car from Maina said they have always had cars for as long as he can remember.

He also said he had never been beaten up by his mum who is a widow.

"I was never beaten, I was a good child. My mum has never beaten me. She pinched me once on the cheek and I cried for a week. You don't have to be beaten to be disciplined."

His co-host Mwalimu King'ang'i says that parents have relaxed when it comes to disciplining kids.

"Kids nowadays are very spoilt. Unajuwa hawachapwi hata shule just ask the teachers.

These kids are spoiled by their parents.

If parents can be sued most African parents would be sentenced to life imprisonment."

Below are some responses from some callers

*Wanyoike

"I do not find anything wrong with that boy driving a car. Just show him/her how to be careful. No one taught me how to drive I had been keenly watching what drivers do.I can't blame him, that is very encouraging."

*Carol says single mothers are usually under pressure to give their kids the best hence they rarely discipline their kids.

"My child is 3 years old and I spoil her a lot.We never had these things so I give her whatever she wants. Before cooking, I ask her what she wants to eat.

When looking for a school if she doesn't like it we look for something else."

Adding;

"When the responsibility of taking care of the child is left to you alone.

You give them everything so that they don't get a chance to ask you where their dad is."

As a parent how do you discipline your child?
