Shock as Residents of Budalangi, Busia County encounter a rude shock after a 36-year-old man, Romanus Onyango, committed suicide for reasons which are yet to be reviewed.

Speaking to citizen digital the wife who Onyango left said that earlier on his husband had threatened to take away his life over an alleged disagreement with an unknown person.

"He claimed that he had differences with an unknown individual. He then threatened to take his own life," she remarked.

The authorities who were called to the scene arrived on such short notice, where the Officer Commanding Station said that they found the deceased body hanging from the roof of his house.

"We received a report on the incident which happened at Mupangara village in Bunyala North Ward. We found his body hanging from the roof of his house," the OCS said.

The man's body is said to have been found in his house in Bunyala North where it was later taken to Port Victoria Hospital Mortuary.

The widow of the deceased known as Beatrice Oundo said that the late Romanus Onyango's body was found in their house.

The Police have launched investigations into the critical incident. Port Victoria Officer Commanding Station (OCS)of the area Joshua Ochieng said the body has been taken to Port Victoria Hospital Mortuary.

On 4th February 2022, there was another case of a man that also committed suicide after his wife allegedly cheated on him with a pastor.

The 45-year-old man torched his house before committing suicide in Sigomere-Igero village, Busia County.

Desterio Onyango Wabwire, who used to work in Kisumu, set his house ablaze in the wee hours of Friday morning using petrol and later ingested poison.

 His body was later found lying a few meters away from his house.

The neighbors reported that the couple's relationship had for a long time been living with disagreements.

The residents further blamed the late Onyango's wife for allegedly being in a romantic relationship with a pastor from a neighboring church, something that annoyed the deceased for a long time.

The body was moved to Busia County Referral hospital mortuary.
