The Embakasi West Member of Parliament, George Theuri has conceded defeat to his Jubilee opponent, Mark Mwenje. George was running for the seat under the UDA ticket.
The former member of parliament is one who went out and beyond to retain his leadership position in Embakasi.
He caught the attention of many during his campaigns as photos of him walking barefoot and eating while seating on the streets surfaced. Going all out with the hustler mantra I guess.
It pleased many that he also honorably stepped down after his 10-year tenure.
"As we begin a new chapter, allow me to wish my brother the new incoming Embakasi West MP hon. Mark Mureithi Mwenje best of luck as you embark to start a new era as MP-elect,” George noted.
“To all my supporters, please let’s support Hon. Mark Mwenje as he takes over the office and accord him the necessary respect the office deserves, politics is not enmity but competition on better ideas and service to our people” he added.
Many may not be familiar with the fact that before the outset of his political journey, George was a laundry supervisor/ machine operator at Windsor Drycleaners.
He was also a councilor for Umoja 1 of the Nairobi City Commission. He holds a diploma in Theological & Biblical Studies from Nairobi Pentecostal Bible College.
The young former MP is known for his style of doing things that don't bend to society's expectations of conforming to the elitist norms.
He has pulled many stunts the most unforgettable being, dressing casually (in sandals) while attending a state house meeting, posing half-naked, and mauling his constituent, who tried to "air the grievances" of the people of Embakasi West.
