Jasper Muthomi aka Mc Jessy has conceded defeat in his bid to become the South Imenti MP. The comedian thanked his people in a post he made on his Instagram page.

"To the People of South Imenti Constituency, I Sincerely Thank you so much for the time we have interacted during our campaign time. It has been a great journey."

He added that it had been an amazing journey for him and that he would be back in the next elections.

"A journey of daring hearts. We will continue to engage as we look forward to Next time. God willing."

He also didn't leave out his competitor Dr. Shadrack, writing, I personally want to congratulate my worthy competitor Dr. Shadrack as he prepares to be the new Mp for South Imenti.

He then urged his supporters to take heart as it was 'siasa tu'.

The comedian had joined Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party early during his campaigns.

However, things took an interesting turn for him when Ruto announced that the comedian has dropped his bid to back up Mwiti Kathaara for the parliamentary seat.

Ruto then added that Jessy would join his presidential campaign team instead, something that Jessy refused to do insisting that he would go it alone instead as an independent candidate.

His hope had been to unseat Kathuri Murungi who has been the Member of Parliament for South Imenti Constituency since March 2013.
