Sauti Sol singer and Guitarist Polycarp Otieno aka Fancy Fingers has shared memories of how he knew that his baby was a boy.
In an interview with Mpasho, Polycarp said that his wife Amanda had been convinced by many that she would give birth to a girl due to the smooth pregnancy journey.
"How we discovered the gender is really interesting, it was a very smooth pregnancy for my wife. She is Burundian, so in their culture, when you have no morning sickness, they say it is a girl. Even people were telling her how happy she is... it's a girl," Polycarp shared.
The 'Rhumba Toto' hitmaker says the day they went to a gynaecologist to check the baby's gender was so special.
"When we went to check the Gender of the baby at 21 weeks, we made it very special. We put the result in an envelope, said we are going home to have dinner, a glass of wine...then now open it. We made sure we recorded it. She was very convinced."
Unlike Amanda's expectation, they found out they were expecting a boy.
"When we opened she saw Sex-F, she was happy its a female...but that F was hers. We discovered it was a boy and it was so emotional for us. She has never had a man in the house when growing up. It was impactful for her that she will now have this young man to raise," he shared.
Polycarp says he was ready to have a boy or girl, and that the gender of the baby did not really matter to him.
"I honestly did not care whether it was a boy or girl. It was my first child, so I was open to whatever sex will come. Now that I have a boy, I want a girl after."
