Sad! Jackie Maribe thrown into mourning

• Jacque Maribe mourning the passing on of her aunt.

• Jacque said on Monday was both a happy moment after William Ruto was declared the winner but also sad that she lost an aunt.

Media personality Jacque Maribe is mourning after she lost a close relative.

Through her social media, the mother of one said yesterday was both a celebratory day and yet a sad day for her and her family.

"Yesterday was a very bitter-sweet day for me and my family. Sweet…because we prayed and voted and won against all odds, and we could celebrate that Ruto indeed has and will always be our choice," she wrote.

Bitter…because we lost my aunt who passed on hours before. In all things, we give thanks. God above everything."

In a past interview, Jacque had hinted that she wanted to run for political office herself when the time is right.

“It is an opportunity. Given the opportunity, why not? "The proper response from me is, 'See you at the finish line!'" she said.

Maribe said that sometimes people are sent to push you in the right direction.

"You never know.”

Adding, “I have not ruled it out but what I’m saying is, I have not declared it. I’m receiving a lot of messages from people asking if I will run. The proper response from me is, 'See you at the finish line!'"

The former news anchor had also shown support to the president elect William Ruto and some of his supporters.

While having a discussion with her sister, Jacque asked Cate; "What about for president?"

Cate, without hesitating, announced who she will be voting for come August when the general elections will be held.

"Our favourite, William Samoei Ruto. He is loyal, that one, praying for him every day that wakitaka kututukana watutukane. (If they want to abuse us they can abuse us, we don't care)"

Jacque added, "The 5th".
