On Tuesday, Former Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana joined the Kenya Kwanza team.
In a statement, President-elect William Ruto welcomed him to the Kenya Kwanza team, saying he will join the legal team in the ongoing presidential election petition.
"We associate with the leadership that Kivutha Kibwana, he has manifested in agreeing to work with us in furthering our country’s development agenda," Ruto said.
The former governor was accompanied by other leaders.
Kibwana had served Makueni residents for two terms as the governor and launched his senatorial bid to replace Mutula Kilonzo.
He flopped the senatorial seat and lost to Wiper party Dan Maanzo.
The outgoing governor was vying on the Muungano Party ticket.
His move to join Ruto comes days after a number of elected leaders and influential groups decamped to Ruto's camp after he was declared the winner of the August 9 presidential election.
