President William Ruto is expected to hold discussions with TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew over the moderation of explicit content on the Chinese video-sharing platform.
Speaking Wednesday at Nakuru State Lodge, Ruto said he plans to raise the issue of inappropriate content on the platform, which has led to the lodging of a petition in parliament seeking its ban in Kenya.
National Assembly speaker Moses Wetangula has directed the National Assembly's Public Petitions Committee to consider the petition and report its findings by October.
