The Real Housewives of Nairobi cast Lisa Christoffersen in an interview with Buzz central has opened up about battling stage 4 cancer.
The rally driver revealed that one day in 2006 she woke up in a blood bath in her bed which shocked her adding that "on my way to the bathroom, I fainted and that was my first time ever."
She further explained that the thought of battling cancer never crossed her mind since the pain and bleeding caused her discomfort and made her see one of the best gynecologists in South Africa explaining that;
" The pain was too much and I could not walk 50 meters without coughing blood and I thought that my uterus was going to fall off."
The rally driver explains that she did everything from scans and ex-rays and the next day the doctor examined her for stage 4 cancer in addition to that, " they told me that I just had two days to live because the tumor had gone too far."
She went ahead to expound; " I had two massive tumors in my uterus one being 12 cm and the other one 14cm and they were pushing each other, my lungs also had tumors and that's why I struggled to breathe, and coughed blood."
She explained that her chemotherapy journey started as soon because she was too weak and during the procedure, her lungs collapsed and she was "declared dead" adding that " they managed to revive me, I was in life support machine for five weeks"
The only side effect she had was extreme hair loss describing that" my doctor told me all the side effects I'll have from chemo but I only lost my hair and they grew back dark, thick, and curly."
She concluded by advising people who have been diagnosed with cancer to only stay positive and just embrace it.
