Guardian Angel's wife Esther Musila has narrated how the death of her mother took a toll on her.

Speaking in a recent radio interview, Musila said her mum passed on at night after spending the weekend with her (a few years ago).

Musila disclosed that her mum was diabetic but showed no signs of being ill.

"The death of my mum is the biggest thing that has ever taken a toll on me. We visited her after a neighbor had passed on and so we attended her burial," she said.

Before visiting her mum, Musila said her mother had asked her to buy her night dresses.

On the day they left to return to Nairobi, Musila said she did not sleep well only for her to receive the saddest news of the demise of her mum the following morning.

"When I woke up my cousin called me but immediately disconnected the phone and stopped receiving my calls. Our gardener called me and broke the news to me. I screamed and I was so confused. She had high blood pressure but she was okay," she said.

Musila said after the news, she thought her mum would wake up but reality checked in when she went home with her brother and found she was dead.

"It was by God's grace how we drove to Machakos. I stood at the gate and let my brother go and check. It was the longest walk of my life. I looked at my brother and knew it was true," she said adding that she lost weight in three days due to stress," she remarked.

She described her mum as her pillar of strength and someone she looked up to.

On how she overcame the death, Musila said she decided to celebrate her more and not mourn her although it was not easy.

"I used to be affected coz I used to call her every day at 11 am. So every day after she died, I used to burst out since it was a routine. I celebrated her more for the life she lived. I know she is at a good place," she added.
