Kenya is on the rise yet again in matters of invention, as Moses Kiuna and David Gathu create an Artificial Intelligence Machine.

The AI unit is meant to help people with disabilities.

Like we would have Alexa or Siri, the invention is dubbed Jeff, meaning gotten the essence first. They termed it so since it is the first unit to be created in Kenya for such a purpose.

With over 1 million people in the country who have lost their arm/limb, Jeff is meant to be a companion and help giver.

Jeff can receive instructions to switch on and off lights, turn on or off the television and still reduce the volume. The machine can also be used to tell time and inform one of the current occurrences e.g. if it's rainy or sunny and the exact temperatures.

It even gets more interesting getting to know the raw materials used - its body is made of wood which they can easily structure to their preference with an axe.

Since Jeff has a resemblance to a human being, Moses and David have used a mouse for the nose feature and headphone pieces for the ear feature.

The creation is majorly an assembling of waste materials.

Besides financial challenges, getting matching components and the right resources to enhance its speed and appearance has been a hard nut to crack.

Developing and fine-tuning Jeff has taken the duo more than a year.

The AI unit receives and responds to instructions in Kiswahili, when called upon it will reciprocate 'Yes, Sema, Nakuskia.'

You would think Moses and David are some Ph.D. holders only to find out they are high school leavers.

Other than the Jeff invention they have also other projects they have implemented, one being a generator that uses Oxygen.

On the side, Moses, and David do CCTV installations, solar panels, and repairing electronic devices.

The like minds met in 2005 and attended the same primary school.
