Citizen TV news anchor Rashid Abdalla is turning a year older today.
In a birthday message to himself, Rashid posted a TBT photo where he was with his mum.
He showered her with praise for raising him singlehandedly after the death of his father years ago.
"Alhamdullilahi it’s my birthday. Asante mamangu kwa kila jambo najua haijakuwa raisi wewe kunilea peke yako baada ya baba kufariki lakini ulijitahidi. (Thank you my mother for everything, i know it has not been easy for you to take care of me alone after dad died, but you tried.)" Rashid penned.
He went on to say that he prays for his mother to granted God's favour and to live long.
"Umekuwa pambaja wakati wa huzuni, matumaini wakati wa tabu, nguvu wakati wa udhaifu na nuru wakati wa giza. Asante kwa kuipa maana siku yangu ya kuzaliwa, nakupenda sana . (You have been my comfort during sad times, my hope during tough days, my strength when i am weak and my light in darkness. Thank you for giving meaning to my birthday.)"
Fans went on to shower Rashid with sweet birthday messages.
