Sharing his experience during an interview with Kalekye's Health Moments, Muema shared,
"When we got to Kenyatta hospital after the incident I was in a coma for two weeks so I rely on what I am told.
People were 50/50 about my survival. I thank God for my being alive, it is a miracle.
After the bullets were removed they forgot the one (bullet) in my hand.
They washed me as my internals were injured, I would be taken to the theatre
I was told I went under cardiac arrest during the times my wounds were being cleaned up.
When I woke up after two weeks my hands and legs had been tied up, I asked why I had been tied and they told me I had tried removing the tubes in my body."
Muema added, "At that time I was so sick even lifting my neck was a problem.
I would be taken back to the theatre every hour to have my internals washed. At the time my intestines were put in a Bogota bag.
I remember there is a day I had not been taken to the theatre for 48 hours and I started feeling like I was rotting, I called the doctor who immediately called for action.
I think it's that time that I went into cardiac arrest.
My colon was removed and so I can't go to the washroom the normal way.
Life changed for me as everything was being done for me."
