The family of Carol Ngumu is opening up about the death

• Late IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando died alongside Carol.

• It's been five years since their death.

The family of the woman killed alongside IEBC ICT manager  Chris Msando is speaking out about her.

It's been five years since Carol Ngumbu and Chris were found dead and on this anniversary Carol's family spoke to NTV.

Msando and Carol were allegedly abducted and found murdered a few days before the 2017 general election.

An autopsy of the two said they were tortured and strangled to death. In the NTV interview, Carols sister spoke of the family's agony in coming to terms with her relationship with the IT guru.

The family said that 44-year-old Msando and 21-year-old Carol had started dating a year before they met their untimely deaths.

They died a couple of days before the 2017 election. Msando had planned to meet Carol and the sister was privy to the details.

"She (Caroline) told me that Chris had a meeting. And when Chris left the meeting, he called her and told her he had another meeting and so she should go somewhere and wait for him," the deceased's sister narrated.

As their clandestine affair went on, Caroline's mother was oblivious to it. She would find out that her daughter had a close relationship with Msando when they were both found dead. "I even wondered where they met. I asked Shiku (Jedida) to explain to me how Carol and Msando met," the mother said.

The sister added about the affair, "When she was staying in Naivasha, they would even call me with Chris. We were in Naivasha together and Chris would come to pick her up and bring her to Nairobi," she narrated.

The grieving family wants justice

"They were all human beings. They should not have investigated the death of one and left out the other," Caroline's mother said. "Caroline did not work for the government and maybe that is why she was treated differently. It was unfair because she was also a human being," Jedida added.
