• Ruto garnered 7,176,141 votes representing 50.49 percent of the final vote, while Raila received 6,942,930 votes representing 48.85

• William Ruto was declared the President-Elect by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati at the Bomas of Kenya.

Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has sent his congratulatory to Kenya's President Elect William Samoei Ruto.

Ruto was on Monday 15th, August 2022 declared the winner of the August general elections.

Museveni says he looks forward to working with Ruto and his government.

"On behalf of all Ugandans, I congratulate Your Excellency @WilliamsRuto upon your election as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya."

Adding;

"Further to my telephone call last night upon your victor.

I wish to reassure you of Uganda’s commitment to continue partnering with Kenya in advancing regional and continental agenda through the East African Community, African Union and other multilateral platforms."

"Our bilateral cooperation will score tremendous achievements and I look forward to working more closely with you. God bless Kenya. God bless East Africa.

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu had also earlier sent her congratulatory message to William Ruto.

"I congratulate the people of Kenya on their peaceful general election and the subsequent announcement of Williams Ruto as President-elect," she said on Instagram.

"We look forward to continuing working together with our brothers and sisters in Kenya to strengthen our historically close ties. Tuko pamoja," she added.
