Due to the IEBC's tardiness in starting operations, voters at Moi Avenue in Nairobi were compelled to storm the polling place.
Despite lengthy lines outside the gate at 6:20 am, the polling place was still not open. The gates were still shut because no one had been let to enter, so they stormed in.
They pushed their way inside despite the armed officers stationed at the gate with the majority of voters expressing frustration with the IEBC staff's delays and lack of communication.
Before casting their votes, other voters threatened to leave.
