• Mwai Kibaki died aged 90. Kibaki has left behind four kids namely Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, Tony Githinji and David Kagi.

Former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki is dead.

He has died aged 90.

Kibaki has left behind four kids namely Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, Tony Githinji and David Kagi.

Kibaki was husband to the late Lucy Kibaki.

Uhuru Kenyatta described him as charming, witty and God-loving.

Adding, "Mwai Kibaki will forever be remembered as a gentleman in Kenyan politics, a brilliant debater... As we mourn the passing of an icon, Mwai Kibaki, we can rejoice in the lifelong companionship that he enjoyed with his now-departed wife, H.E Mama Lucy Kibaki."

He continued, "As a leading figure in Kenya's post-independence history, his excellency Mwai Kibaki earned the abiding respect and affection of the people of this nation and other nations throughout the world."

Uhuru paid tribute, "On the 30th of December 2002, Mwai Kibaki was sworn in as the third president of the Republic of Kenya. The late former president's administration conceptualized and spearheaded transformation in crucial sectors."
