Kenya's retired President Mwai Kibaki is marking his 90th birthday today. 

Kenyans have flooded social media platforms with messages of goodwill to the President of the Republic of Kenya. 

"Your Excellency, we wish you God's continued providence as you celebrate your 90th birthday today Mr. President. Happy and blessed birthday Hon. Mwai Kibaki, the 3rd President of the Republic of Kenya," State House penned.

His birthday has rekindled memories of his two-year terms as a president, the controversial and hilarious statements he made. 

One common one is a video of Kibaki publicly declaring that he has only one wife, Lucy. 

Kibaki made the declaration under strict watch by Lucy, who told journalists to stop saying Mary Wambui is his second wife. 

"I want to make it very clear that I have only one dear wife, Lucy, who is here. And i do not have any other, ask any question I will reply," Kibaki said.
