Assistant chief of Kuto location in Narok West Sub-county died today following a tragic road accident at Mulot area along the Bomet-Narok road. 

Confirming the incident, the Narok police commander John Kizito said the assistant chief died on the spot after he was run over by a lorry when he lost control of the bike he was riding.

Kizito said the administrator known as Kipyegon Koech was riding on GKB 228X make Yamaha at around 7 am this morning heading to Narok direction when the incident happened. 

"It happened that on reaching the location of the accident, he lost control of the motorcycle and swerved to the left of the road. He fell on the road on the same lane and one motor vehicle registration number KCQ 759P make Mitsubishi Fuso lorry which was following the said motorcycle ran over the rider,” said Kizito. 

The body of the deceased has since been moved to Longisa County general hospital mortuary while both the motorcycle and motor vehicle were towed to Ololulunga police station yard pending investigation. 

Following the incident, area County Commissioner Evans Achoki mourned the departed administrator describing him as a reliable and hard-working officer.

Achoki who spoke to KNA via phone said he has lost a hardworking officer who was always ready to serve his government at all times.

"My prayers are with the family of Mr Koech during these tough times, I condole with the people of Kuto who have lost a dedicated officer," said Achoki.
