The chickens have come home to roost. There is a new Kenya Film Classification Board boss, and it is not Ezekiel Mutua.
Mutua has been replaced by Christopher Wambua who was the director of Public communication CAK.
He takes on the job as acting CEO of KFCB.
This comes after EACC launched investigations into irregular payments to Mutua.
In a letter dated May 6, 2021, EACC requests a number of documents and information to aid the investigation.
"The Commission is investigating allegations of irregular payments of salaries and allowances to the institution's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua and a Board Member, Ms. Gathoni Kungu," the letter read.
The commission's detectives were requesting files that include, "Personal files of the two officials. All payments of salaries and allowances to the above named including payslips and payment vouchers."
KFCB Human Resource Policy and Procedures Manual guiding the increment of salaries and allowances and any other relevant documents."
Last night, Ezekiel had no idea he had been fired, he tweeted a denial asking people to ignore the "Malicious rumours."
