Lady dies after falling from 8th floor Kiambu building

Her remains were taken to Kihara level 4 hospital mortuary where an autopsy will be conducted.

Catherine Njeri is alleged to have fallen from eighth floor of a build in Kiambaa.

Police in Kiambaa sub-county, Kiambu, have arrested 5 people who were with a 23-year-old lady who is alleged to have fallen from an eighth floor of a building on Monday.

It was reported that the 5 are being treated as suspects by the police who have locked them at Karuri police station.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Kiambaa deputy county commissioner Peter Maina said investigations of what happened before the lady identified as Catherine Njeri died have started.

“The police have started the probe. The suspects will record statements and help the detectives with all the details they will need,” he said.

He said the suspects will assist the detectives to establish what happened at the building which is located at Gacharage village.

However, tenants of the building said they only heard a loud sound of a falling object.

“We rushed out to see what was happening and we were shocked to see it was a lady’s body,” said Simon Mburu, a tenant.

Mburu said the incident attracted so many people who came to witness what had just happened.

Police had a difficult time pushing the onlookers who were struggling to see the body of the lady.
