A woman in Kakamega was saved from lynching after neighbours found the rotting corpse of her son inside her house.

Police in Ebambwa, Kakamega arrested the woman suspected of killing her son.

A resident said they noticed the woman behaving suspiciously going around his house while drinking alcohol.

The suspect's neighbour said that she asked her to open the door but she refused.

She said that a mob had already informed the police who rushed to rescue the suspect.

According to the suspect's neighbours, the woman had a fight with her son over two kilograms of maize.

The neighbours said that the suspect is also an illicit brewer who often fought with her children.
