The Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) has stated that the Mombasa-bound lanes of the Uhuru Highway between the Haile Selassie and Bunyala Roundabouts would be closed temporarily.
The closure will last three days, from October 19 to October 21, 2023. The closure, according to KeNHA, is required to permit maintenance work along this section.
"KeNHA wishes to notify the public of a temporary closure of Uhuru Highway from Haile Selassie to Bunyala roundabouts on Mombasa lanes from Thursday, October 19, 2023, to Saturday, October 21, 2023."
During this period, motorists traveling towards Mombasa Road are advised to exit at the Haile Selassie roundabout.
They should then use the Nairobi-bound carriageway in conjunction with other traffic until they can rejoin the Mombasa-bound carriageway at the Bunyala roundabout.
Motorists are also urged to exercise caution and adhere to traffic signs and instructions provided by marshals and police personnel in the area.
"Motorists are advised to approach this section with caution and follow traffic signs and guidance as directed by traffic marshalls and police," KeNHA advised.
KeNHA aims to complete the necessary maintenance to minimise inconvenience for road users while enhancing the overall condition of Uhuru Highway.
"Please plan your routes accordingly and cooperate with authorities during this temporary road closure."
