Diamonds manager advises Mandonga about how he should hype events in the future

Viral boxer Karim Madonga floored his Kenya opponent Daniel Wanyonyi in a much-anticipated event at the KIcc Saturday, January 14.

The 43-year-old Tanzanian fighter is popularly known for his hilarious statements declaring how he will quickly end the match before bouts, and Diamond Platnumz' Manager SK Salllam has advised Mandonag to ensure he first makes money before hyping an event.

SK Sallam has successfully seen the rise of Diamond to an internally renowned artiste who commands lots of money.

Prior to his Kenya visit, Mandonga hyped the event so much that non sports enthusiasts even got interested in the bout.

The 43-year-old Tanzanian fighter is popularly known for his comical statements before bouts, and has vowed to floor Wanyonyi while promising he would unleash a new technique.

He landed in Kenya on Wednesday and a clip of his hying the vent went viral. He promised to unleash the Sugunyo fist on his opponent.

"Let them know that Mandonga 'Mtu Kazi' and is now in Kenya and I've been well received, I feel as if I'm still in Tanzania. Let them know that I will teach Wanyonyi a lesson, because I feel strong, fearing nothing. I have worked hard; those who work hard like me know no failure, no! I have brought the punch I promised Kenyans, a hard one made in Ukraine, it is called 'Sugunyo.' Woe unto my opponent,” said Mandonga.

Madonga lived up to his hype of the show after technically knocking out Wanyonyi in the fifth round of the show.

Speaking after the match, Mandonga defended his hype for the match saying it is key in making the match lively.

He said he will back to Kenya for another fight promising to floor the opponent again.

“Mdomo ni ya kupiga promo, nikiingia ulingo iko nafasi ya ngumi,” Mandonga said.

“Narudi tena Nairobi, Kenya hii Aprili ‘kumzika mtu’, raundi ya kwanza kaburi lake liko wapi? Muwekeni pale! Nitakuja na ngumi nyingine, sio Sugunyo tena.”
