Award-winning actress Lydia Gitachu has narrated an incident where she and her friend were raped.

Sharing her story on 'Moments with Justus' she narrated

"After form four I was waiting for a chance to join my brothers in the US.I started a habit of going for Jam sessions but I never used to sleep out.

I was kidnapped alongside another girl, and we were taken to a club in town, at the time sikua najua tao vizuri."

Lydia says she wanted to go to an aunt who she lived with in Thika, but she did not know the directions.

The lady she was with suggested they go visit an aunt of hers in Umoja.

"We managed to escape but we had nowhere to go. The lady I was with could not remember her aunt's place. The doors we knocked we were met by strangers who chased us away. We saw a kiosk and decided to go and sleep there before we were ambushed by 3 men.

They robbed us and raped us. I asked one of them if there was a stone that they could use to hit me so that I could die."

Adding

"After the rape, they gave us back the money they had stolen and directed us to matatus.I thought I would die of HIV/AIDS but luckily I did not get infected, I also did not get pregnant."
