Ivy Chelimo, the girl behind the catchphrase "Riggy G," has promised to sue a man who told Kenyans they were once lovers but broke up after Chelimo rose to fame.
Chelimo stated in a follow-up statement that Alvan Kirui is in hot soup because he shouldn't have lied to the public to damage her reputation.
“Please stop peddling lies using my name and photos. I will take legal action. Be informed.
“Actually I mean it, it's wrong for a man to peddle lies,” Ivy Chelimo said.
On October 18, Chelimo issued a statement, clarifying that she has never met Kirui who claimed to be her ex-lover.
"Please I do not know anyone by the name Alvan Kirui and I have certainly not been involved with the person claiming in any way whatsoever!! Disregard any information circulating regarding the same," Ivy Chelimo sought to clarify that she has never met Alvan Kirui Jnr and that his claims are baseless.
Before that, Alvan had put up a post claiming that he got dumped by Chelimo when she got famous adding that her parents also advised her to end the relationship.
“This will always be my favorite picture I took of you. I can't believe your parents can advise you to leave me at my lowest. You know I love you, just remember all I've been doing for you, Ivy,” the man captioned Ivy Chelimo’s photo on Twitter.
The claims came just a day after Ivy Chelimo was given a job by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in his office. She will be working at Gachagua's Harambee House Annex office.
