Following Eli Mwenda's initiative to get content creators to reveal their rate cards in a bid to help others know how to structure theirs media personality Anita Nderu has come out to congratulate Eli on the move.

" I just want to tell everyone how happy I am about Eli Mwnda's stories. If you are a creator please go to his page and check out his highlight.

I love this transparency of things because it means finally there is a chance that creators will get a stream lined payment that sticks. And people will know what to charge and what not to accept." Gushed Anita.

Content creator Eli Mwenda took to his Instagram page calling out on content creators to participate in his little initiative.

" Let us discuss rate cards and transparency. No one really knows how much their peers are charging unless it is your close friends." Started off Eli.

He then went on to add, " often it brings a very large range meaning you can go to a campaigns and things without knowing if you are charging too much or too little.

This has been the case for me and you find you've been reached out by a brand but then you never hear from them again because maybe you overcharged or it's too low."

Eli went ahead to encourage fellow content creators to participate in his Instagram anonymous link so that people can put up how much they charge for Insta stories, reels , videos and static posts depending with their follower count so that people can get a rough estimate of how much people are charging so as to help others.

Content creators such as Anita Nderu, Mama Olive, Foi Wambui, Esther Kazungu, and Wabosha Maxine applauded Eli Mwenda for the initiative as they encouraged people to share so as to help them come up with a unified font to avoid exploitation.

Anita Nderu has been known to be overly vocal when it comes to the acknowledgement of content creation as an actual job and calling out companies for just sending PR packages instead of paying the creators.

Four months ago the new mom took to her Instagram page to accuse influencers of agreeing to be exploited by accepting poor pay or mere PR packages in order to look busy booked, and blessed.

"Agencies and companies  are exploiting content creators and artistes these days. Looking booked, busy and being given free product isn't the same as getting paid for your value." Anita started off.

She went on to add the disparity gap should be taken as an opportunity to address it

"Kenya needs a union that represents us and  sets T's and C's that protect us, because it is WORK, to produce  all the content you see and it costs money  and time to  show up looking like we do"

"More often than not, the budget is there we are settling for less or nothing. The sooner we stop undercutting  each other for pennies,  and agreeing to be exploited so we look busy, the better our bottom line will be"
