Cake boss, Maxwell Mwamburi popularly known for his artistic cakes recently came out of the closet and since then he had been making headlines on a daily.
Maxwell who also goes by, Hunty Maxine or just Maxine (his female alter ego) in a recent interview confirmed that he had been hiding his true identity out of the crippling fear of criticism from the public.
He also revealed that he has been queer since childhood and he truly struggled with an identity crisis.
“I’ve been like this since childhood... It’s something I struggled with for quite some time. It was about time I came out of the closet and just do me and live life my own way,” Maxwell said.
The entrepreneur who has also taken up on the mantle of a tea master revealed that in the past he had tried coming out to the public but was met with irrational backlash and hate.
“There’s a point I came out on my Instagram stories but the insults were too much so I just went back to the closet. I pretended, but I But now I came back as fully gay,” he said.
Maxine went on to add that even though he had come out fully as gay to the public, not all his family members and friends have come to terms with his newly revealed identity or accepted his truth.
He added that he and his dad had not talked ever since his public stance.
