Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua has congratulated William Ruto for his win.
Speaking shortly at President-elect William Ruto's Karen residence shortly after the Supreme Court upheld their election, Rigathi said their victory took the hand of God.
"Today marks the beginning of the economic transformation of the Republic of Kenya. This victory is the hand of God," Gachagua said.
Adding;
"It has been a long one and half year journey but today, a son of a nobody known to Kenya is now the President of Kenya. We thank the people of Kenya for trusting him,"
He said they may not be as hard working as the President-elect but they will do their best.
"I must admit that though we may not be able to be as hardworking, be as zealous, as passionate as you are, we'll give it our best shot," Gachagua said adding that they will not let down the voters.
Gachagua extended an olive branch to their opponents and asked them to work together with them noting that they have nothing against them.
"Let by gones be by gones and let all those who are against us join us we build this country together. We have nothing against anybody because we are Kenyans and we are good people and all we want is the economic transformation of our country," he added.
