Different people have shared experiences of having lost loved ones through drowning.

Some of the people almost became victims luckily for them they survived but not without suffering from trauma.

Below are some of their experiences.

Lorna Owino Olonde: A former schoolmate drowned n died in a pool in Australia. Not that she was a poor swimmer, she was good. Let's just say, this can happen to anyone, good or bad swimmer. The only thing is to take precautions. We never know when things get messy.

Fabiola Dominic: Oh my...this reminds me of my dota last year was 7yrs of age, almost completely drowned in the big pool...they went swimming with her aunt who forgot she is a kid and never supervised her...very dangerous.

Kireti Rhoda

I have never dared to do deep end yet am a good swimmer. It just happened that I saw a good swimmer once pass away at YMCA and never had the courage ever again to try deep end.

My children can swim but when they are with me I restrict them to the shallow end because if anything I can't save them. Secondly, they can only swim where there is a lifeguard I don't take chances. I know even very good swimmers can drown so let's be careful at all times.

Nekesa Carol

I almost drowned in Nyali international. I know how to swim but I cannot explain what happened. In a second I was gasping and flapping until I heard a guy on the other end shouting, stay calm and stop flapping and suddenly I floated and swam out. I have never panicked like that in my life.

I lost my small brother in a water rock catchment....wish he had the skills to help himself after slipping

That pain can't let me watch how Wendy lost it, it's usually so fast, water swallows you in so fast and becomes so calm and still in a blink of a second.

It hurts so much I know how the family is lost now and let no one lie, it never becomes fine.
