Bensoul's girlfriend recounts losing dad to violence

Bensoul’s girlfriend Noni Gathoni has spoken about her amazing late dad.

Noni revealed her dad passed away from gun violence.

"13 years ago today, I lost my dad to gun violence and for some reason, my day went so well! Weirdly!" she wrote.

Speaking about their moments together, Noni said she was close to her dad and she treasures the memories.

"We loved watching the sunset together and with this view, I feel like he was right next to me. FIMH papa."

Noni shared a photo of her parents celebrating her dad.

She said her dad was a photographer and walked around with his camera and that is how he managed to capture different moments.

"My mom was dead asleep at the railway station on their way to Mombasa and he stopped a random guy and asked him to take the photo and pretended to be asleep. He carried his camera everywhere, I still have it. My pops was an engineer, traveler, photographer and this is my favourite photo. A life lost is a life celebrated."

Noni is currently dating Sol Generation's Bensoul.

The two met at at a friend’s party after talking on social media for quite some time.

"We met at an enjoyment as usual. He was going to meet his friends who had come from Embu and I was attending a friend’s party. We had been talking on social media for sometime so that day I spotted him walking behind me and I went and tapped him. We talked, exchanged numbers and we ended up having a good night. This guy texted me five days later to ask me if I got home safe.” She said.

Noni added that dating an artiste has not been easy but she has learnt to separate his job from his real personality.

"‘Dating an artiste is not easy but you have to know how to differentiate between showbiz and real life. Like when Bensoul goes on stage, it is not easy but I always tell him to forget I am there like if a lady comes and wants to dance with him he should go ahead and do it but it should not go past there."
