Ugandan superstar Eddy Kenzo hit a fan with his microphone, while performing during his 'Eddy Kenzo Festival' in Fort Portal.

In a video that has gone viral, a reveller is seeing pouring a drink on Kenzo, who was on stage performing his 'Enjoyment' song.

The 10-second clip shows an angry Kenzo throwing the microphone at the reveller. His security is then seen getting into the crowd, going towards the reveller.

The singer has not said a word about the incident but took to social media to thank his fans after the show.

"Love from Fort Portal. See you all at Kololo on November 12," he wrote.

Fellow artiste Judith Heard defended Kenzo, saying something has to be done to stop attacks on artistes "before we lose an artiste on stage or a fan in the crowd".

"This was a wake-up call. He was pushed to the limit but this could be turned into some big case."

She added, "We shouldn’t be laughing about this. Ugandan musicians, y’all need to figure out how to end this. Next time that fan will pour acid on the artiste, or the artiste's group will hurt the fan."

A fan named Baba Raho said, "Guys, under no circumstances should anyone ever pour drinks on anyone. It's a sign of disrespect."

Another fan 'Luoboyollo' added, "Sometimes the fans are enjoying that way and performers take it differently because it’s been a stereotype."

Kim Jordan wrote, "But the way Kenzo threw the microphone in the crowd, he never thought twice. Maybe it caught someone innocent, not even the one who poured it."

Kenzo came into the limelight after his 2014 hit song 'Sitya Loss', in which he featured Uganda's Ghetto Kids. The song has since garnered over 44 million views on YouTube.

In 2015, he made history as the first Ugandan to win a BET award. He has won other awards, including a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award, and multiple Afrimas.
