Two years after the death of her husband Beloved John Apewajoye, gospel singer Ruth Matete is back in the studio to record new songs.

While announcing the oncoming release of her song 'Ngome yangu' , Ruth Matete said she was able to compose many songs while mourning her husband.

When her husband died, Ruth Matete became a topic of conversation in the showbiz industry, with claims that she was partly responsible for it.

Many thought it was an opportune moment for her to release a song due to the publicity she was getting.

"When I was mourning my late husband Pastor BelovedJohn, some people told me to record a song or songs during that time. Some had genuine reasons and some didn't. Some said that the song would "hit" because my name was all over," she recalls.

But Ruth chose to mourn her husband first, and her daughter's pregnancy could not allow her to articulate her vocals well.

"So I waited. I finally laid my husband to rest. Delivered a bouncing baby girl by the name @reynatoluwa and things began to slowly settle down.In my mourning period, God gave me songs. I used to just record them on my phone and save them. I am happy to announce that the time is now. The wait is over," she said.

The former TPF star is now signed under Still Alive Productions, where she recorded her comeback song.

In a snippet of the song she shared, Ruth sings of how she has kept her faith in Jesus so as not to fall.

She describes Jesus as her source of strength.
