'Bullies made me discover my singing talent'-Ruth Wamuyu

Celebrated Kikuyu artiste Ruth Wamuyu has revealed how being bullied in high school gave her the confidence to start singing.

Although she used to sing in Sunday School, Wamuyu had not taken the calling seriously until bullies made her sing to entertain them.

Sharing her experience during an interview on Kameme TV, she said;

"When I joined Moi Equator High School the bullying was very real. I was very young so they would ask me apart from being tiny what else could I offer?

I would be monolized, one day they told me to sing and when I did they decided moving forward I would be singing for them.

I would sing in High school but it was not serious, in high school is when I became serious. The same bullies are the ones who gave me the confidence to join CU and start singing.

I would sing for them for even an hour. Esther Wahome was in the school briefly so she was also made to sing."
