Form 3 student stabbed to death by boyfriend under unclear circumstances

A 17-year-old form three student at Aneko Secondary school, Migori was on Sunday stabbed to death by her boyfriend.

The boyfriend in his 20's is alleged to have waylaid the girl as she was going home from school and stabbed her.

Area chief David Okoth said the boyfriend was armed with a knife.

Eyewitnesses indicated that the suspect escaped immediately after stabbing the schoolgirl.

The girl died at the scene of the attack as locals prepared to rush her to the hospital.

Mr.Okoth said the motive of the killing has not been established, however, they suspect that it could be linked to love affairs.

The body of the student has been moved to the mortuary as police officers hunt for the suspect.

The murder comes just hours after a  30-year-old woman has been arrested by police in Makueni Sub-county to help with investigations into the murder of her husband who went missing for an unknown number of days.

The suspect, Purity Nzilani Mutindi, was arrested by police after a trail of bloodstains was spotted leading to the house of the deceased from a thicket where a human skull, separated lower jaw, tubular bone, and clothes belonging to deceased Reuben Mutisya Mwau was found in Thoma village on Friday.

According to police records, a blood-stained jembe and a file (used to sharpen objects) were recovered from the scene on the fateful day.

Makueni County Police Commander  Joseph Ole Naipeyan confirmed the incident saying the death was never reported to the police neither the number of days he went missing.
