Wife beheads hubby throws skull in thicket near house

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested by police in Makueni Sub-county to help with investigations into the murder of her husband who went missing for an unknown number of days.

The suspect, Purity Nzilani Mutindi, was arrested by police after a trail of blood stains spotted leading to the house of the deceased from a thicket where a human skull, separated lower jaw, tubular bone and clothes belonging to deceased Reuben Mutisya Mwau was found in Thoma village on Friday.

According to police records, a blood stained jembe and a file (used to sharpen objects) were recovered from the scene on the fateful day.

Makueni County Police Commander  Joseph Ole Naipeyan confirmed the incident saying the death was never reported to the police neither the number of days he went missing.

"The deceased was murdered in his house before being dumped at the scene. The other body parts are yet to be found," said the police commander while speaking to KNA on Sunday.

The recovered remains were removed to the Kilungu Sub-county Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
