Classic 105 radio presenter, Mike Mondo,  recently emphasized the urgent need to halt the alarming trend of femicide during an interview with Mpasho's Kalondou Musyimi.

In response to the rising cases of violence against women, Mike passionately urged that these senseless killings must cease immediately, asserting that there is no justification for such heinous crimes.

Expressing his disdain for online victim-blaming, Mondo exclaimed, "Stop killing, period. In fact, stop killing in general. There is no excuse. I hate when guys go online and start saying, 'Oh, why was she in an Airbnb? Oh, why?' Who gives a damn? Who gives a flying [expletive]? Just stop."

Mondo also provided advice for resolving conflicts without resorting to violence. He suggested that if parties involved cannot reach an agreement, they should peacefully walk away, stating,

"...If we can't agree, you walk away and say, 'Sawa, it didn't work out.'"

The forty-two-year-old radio host expressed his longing for a return to the values of his upbringing, where men instinctively protected women from harm.

He shared, "I wish we could go back to the days when I grew up, where men used to intervene. Even if you saw a lady you don't know being harassed on the street, that guy would be slapped by fellow men."

Mike strongly asserted that no reason is big enough for a man to resort to killing a woman, whether driven by financial motives, societal status, or other ulterior motives.

"Nowadays we have men who feel justified to do what they do to a woman simply because maybe they have money, maybe they have status, maybe they have ulterior motives.

Why? She's a woman. What for? The natural instinct. Even in wars, women and children were spared. So why are you killing them? For what purpose? The point is, stop killing women."

Additionally, Mondo advised women to exercise caution and return to basics when meeting strangers, recalling a time when women would go on dates accompanied by friends.

"Go back to basics. Remember the days when women used to come for a date with two, three, or four friends. Go back to basics."
