Ababu Namwamba gifts former radio host Leonard Mambo Mbotela Sh.1 million

• The cash was in  recognition of his contribution to the nation.

CS Ababu Namwamba has delighted netizens after he shared photos of him and his team visiting veteran media personality Leonard Mambo Mbotela in his house in Nairobi.

The politician shared several photos of him with the former radio host on his X platform. The two could be seen smiling broadly in one as they posed while in another they appeared deeply engaged in conversation while seated.

During the visit, the CS presented the widely celebrated journalist with his Hongera Award and Sh. 1 million in recognition of his contribution to the nation.

Talking about how much the visit meant to him Ababu started off by reminding people that,"Legends are forever,"

He went on to laud praises on the journalist famed for his 'Je Huu Ni Ungwana,' segment noting that it was a blessing being in the same space as Leonard.

"What a special blessings to visit with and drink  from the fountain of wisdom of this incredible national hero of all time, the ever-green, irrepressible colossus Leonard Mambo Mbotela, he of the peerless "Je, huu ni ungwana" fame," Namwamba posted on his official X social media account.

While finishing up Ababu promised to work on taking Kenyan football back to its golden days while commending Leonard for the amazing commentators work he did when he used to be on radio.

"Live long, Shujaa! We have walked down memory lane to the dizzying times when football radio broadcasts were magical, when Kenyans thronged stadia to cheer their favourite teams, turning every match into a stirring carnival atmosphere.

I am even more determined to take Kenyan football and the rest of our sports to heights never witnessed before. Twende stadi naniii," the last of his post read.

Netizens flocked the post to commend Ababu for taking time off to visit Leonard while others strongly called upon him to keep his promises of nurturing the youth and elevating the sporting world in Kenya reminding the CS that rural areas had as much talent and potential as urban areas.
