President Uhuru Kenyatta's niece Nana Gecaga on Tuesday night congratulated president-elect William Ruto after the supreme court upheld his win as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya.
Nana who is the CEO of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre shared a congratulatory message through the company's social media page.
In the statement, Nana stated that she is proud of how Kenya and her people have handled themselves in the just concluded general elections.
"Congratulations to the incoming 5th President of the Republic of Kenya H.E. Dr. William Ruto and H.E.Deputy President Hon. Rìgathì Gachagua.
"I'm very proud on how Kenya and her people have handled themselves in this general election 2022," she said.
Nana added that having a peaceful election would open more business opportunities for the country.
"This has shown the world that Kenya is and always open for business. To the incoming and continuation leaders of the great republic of Kenya, may you continue to be hardworking, integral, innovative and always put Kenya and her peoples best interests 1st and lead and move Kenya forward always.
May God continue to bless Kenya and her people."
President-elect William Ruto and his Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua will be sworn in at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on Tuesday the 13th of September, 2022.
Monday, President Uhuru Kenyatta also issued a brief speech following the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the 2022 election results.
In his brief, Kenyatta failed to congratulate President-elect William Ruto or even mention him by name.
"I want to wish well all who have won as they guide our country into the future. I thank you all for the opportunity to serve," Uhuru said.
