Martha Karua message's to Kenyans after casting her vote

The Azimio running mate was among the first in line at her polling station

Martha Karua, the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance running mate has encouraged Kenyans to turn up and cast their votes today.

Karua who was speaking some minutes after she cast her votes, expressed confidence in this year's elections.

Karua arrived at a polling station in Kirinyaga county to cast her vote some minutes before 6:00 am.

Speaking to journalists, she said today's decision will determine the direction of the country.

"I will tell them, I have voted you can see the ink, kindly get out and vote. It is our day today to determine the direction this country takes, make your voice heard."

"I feel good and confident. in terms of voting there is no difference but in terms of possibilities,it is very different. There is a possibility that by this evening, Kenyans will have decided which way."

Karua noted that she would have come early but was redirected from her initial polling station after her details were found missing.

"It was okay. For example, I didn't find my name in the first booth I entered. I was redirected to another station, where my name was now found," she said.

Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga will also cast his vote in Kibra at 10 am.
