Engineer Maurice Akech the executive director of the National Construction Authority has sent out a statement on the leaning house that crashed into a residential building today morning in Kinoo. 

"Early this morning at approximately 0100 hours, a building under construction on the site of Proposed Residential Units, Plot LR No. 6244 in the Muthiga area of Kinoo, Dagoretti, collapsed," the statement read.

"The collapse affected the adjacent building, whose residents were promptly evacuated to ensure their safety. The site of the incident has been cordoned off by the National Police Service."

The Authority, County officials, National Building Inspectorate, the National Disaster Management Unit, and other members of the multi-agency team are all on-ground conducting investigations.

"A full report will be issued once comprehensive investigations are concluded. Efforts are underway to ensure the safety of the adjacent building and the surrounding development is not affected," Akech noted.

The National Construction Authority is a State Corporation established by the National Construction Authority Act No. 41 of 2011 with a mandate to oversee the construction industry and coordinate its development.
