Years after leaving his job at NTV, Louis Otieno says he still does not understand how he lost his hearing.
For those in the dark, Louis was a household name back in the day presenting news on various TV channels.
He was loved by many thanks to his mastery of the Queen's language and his tall and dark figure.
A scandal saw him leave the newsroom before ill health knocked.
In an interview with Lynn Ngugi;
"One day I was OK, the next day I could not hear anything.
I was hospitalized at the time as my pancreas had burst.
My situation was bad because I couldn't even hold an IV tube, My hand was swollen. "
Louis says on the day he was allegedly poisoned he was visited by a lady he had never met before.
"I just remember, This person walks in and asks why I had refused to sleep. But I had never seen her before.
She put my telly off and closed the curtains, I do not know what she did because the machines were behind me.
"I slept from 10 till 7 am, but on normal days I would only spend two hours," he added.
He further stated that when the nurse came I couldn't hear - confessing that it wasn't easy.
"My balance was off, I couldn't stand for more than 2 minutes. Before then I had an active lifestyle. I swam, played basketball, hockey," Otieno narrated.
