Lawyer Miguna Miguna now says that Azimio leader Raila Odinga would have been the president of Kenya, had he heeded to his advice.

Miguna said Raila's biggest undoing was betraying Kenyans when he chose to work with retired President Uhuru Kenyatta under the handshake.

He said the former Prime Minister thought working with Uhuru was the shortcut to getting into power, but history is unkind to hypocrites.

"If Raila Odinga had stayed on course like I wanted him to in 2017-2018 he would be president now and Ruto would be in opposition but he betrayed me and he betrayed Kenyans and he thought that the shortcut to power was to betray Kenyans and ask Uhuru Kenyatta to rig elections in his favour," Miguna said on TRT World.

"Unfortunately, history is not very kind to hypocrites like him."

He however clarified that he was not for Raila or against him in 2017.

Miguna said they were fighting for the same thing which is why he led the National Resistance Movement, but Raila betrayed him in the end.

During the interview, he also insisted that the opposition protests cannot lead to anything better for Kenyans.

He said this is because Raila Odinga who is leading the protests is a selfish man.

He said the former Prime Minister was only pushing for the protests for himself and his allies.

"He said if he were to become president he would pursue and continue the tyrannical policies of Uhuru Kenyatta. So when he says he is leading protests, he is leading protests for himself. This is a selfish man who is only interested in his stomach and that of his cronies," he said.

"There is absolutely no way these protests could lead to anything better for Kenyans. When the cost of living was at its highest, Uhuru Kenyatta was president and Raila Odinga was supporting him."
