Several Azimio supporters have been arraigned at a Kibera court.

They were charged with unlawful assembly contrary to section (78) (I) as read with section 79 of the penal code.

They are accused that on March 20 at Kibera subcounty within Nairobi county, they participated in a demonstration by running, shouting and together destroying a side mirror of a car.

They denied the charges.

Lawyer Danstan Omari told the court that they were in a protest which was orchestrated by the high cost of living.

He also wondered why officers decided to charge the accused persons.

"Let theM be released on a cash bail of Sh1000 or a personal bond, they have nothing with them as you can see them," said Omari.

The court has released them on Sh1,000 cash bail.

While releasing them on cash bail Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Boke said that the government would get losses when they are released on huge bond terms that they can't afford.
