Police in Kisii are pursuing thugs who broke into a drinking joint at Nyakoe and injured three guards who were on duty Sunday night.
One security guard, Ezekiel Letet, had his hand chopped off.
He also suffered a deep cut on the head.
The thugs also terrorized clients but left without stealing anything.
Two others, Zephaniah Letet and Paul Nyangoya also suffered deep head cuts.
The attack took place at Candy Villa in Embassy area in Kitutu Chache South subcounty.
The guards were rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for emergency treatment.
Candy Villa manager Richard Obara said the incident took place hours after they had closed for the day's business.
The thugs, he said were armed with pangas, knives and other crude weapons.
