Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has met Ivy Chelimo, the lady behind his nickname Riggy G today.

Speaking at the World Food Day at Rombo, Kajiado South Sub County, Gachagua offered the creative mind a job.

Ivy Chelimo will be working at Gachagua's Harambee House Annex office.

"This lady called Ivy, she coined Riggy G, I've tracked her down and offered her work at my Harambee Annex Office," he stated.

Chelimo, on her part, lauded the deputy for the opportunity thanking him for empowering the youths.

"Thank you Deputy president, he offered me a job this morning and he's very passionate about the youths taking positions in this government," she said.

"I assure you that he has things in place to ensure the youth take up opportunities so don't sit and wait for opportunities to come but rather take them up by yourselves."

A few weeks ago, the second in command announced that he would reward Ivy Chelimo, the content creator who came up with his viral 'Riggy G' moniker.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Gachagua was highlighting how President Ruto's government will nurture young content creators in the country.

"The young lady who decided that my name Rigathi Gachagua is too long and it is not melodious. And I think this guy (Gachagua) looks like a nice guy and we need to give him a good name that sounds melodious," he told Waihiga Mwaura.

Gachagua added that he has already asked his son to look for Ivy so she could have dinner with the family as he hopes to support her craft.

"I have told my sons to look for that girl so that she comes we have dinner. I want to encourage that young girl. I would see what I can do for her so that from my salary I can be able to boost her a little bit to be able to do something."

Ivy had earlier on said that she did not expect that the name would go viral.

Chelimo said she came up with the DP's nickname by chance as she followed the proceedings of the televised deputy presidential debate, days before the General Elections.

She was happy when DP Gachagua used the nickname to refer to himself during a luncheon held at State House, Nairobi following his inauguration.

Ivy was invited to the State House luncheon after the swearing-in ceremony that went down on Monday, September 13 at Moi Sports complex Kasarani.
