Fresh details are emerging about the bus involved in a fatal road accident on Saturday October 8th at the Subuiga black spot along the Meru Nanyuki road.

11 people died in the grisly accident, and several others were injured. The bus was part of a fleet for hire to partygoers on the road.

The luxury party bus was fitted with a state of the art sound system, several TV screens, a Deejay deck and a dance floor.

Partygoers hire the vehicles to travel around the country.

The bus, registration number KAX 998P, was labelled 'Party on Wheels'  that is advertised on social media as an entertainment service which offers the customized buses and vans for travelers.

The customized party vans appear to be popular to travelers.

The accident happened on Saturday evening and claimed some of the people who were traveling to attend a music show that was to be graced by Nigerian musician Ruger in the area, police said.

Witnesses and survivors said the bus was overtaking another vehicle at a hilly section of the road when it collided head-on with an oncoming matatu dragging it many meters away.

Police said the bus, which was heading towards Meru town, then hit a trailer before stopping. Eastern police boss Rono Bunei said the incident is still being probed.

“The scene of the accident is a black spot. It is unfortunate we have lost many lives,” he said. This is the latest accident to happen in the country. The accident happened at around 8PM on Saturday.
