A portion of the Nairobi-bound lanes along the Kenol-Sagana (A2) road has been temporarily closed by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

This closure comes in response to heavy rainfall causing debris to fall from the rear slope of the road section in the Mugetho area.

KeNHA has instructed motorists to share lanes with Sagana-bound traffic and to follow the guidance provided by traffic marshals on-site as they work to restore normal traffic flow.

"The Authority is dedicated to ensuring smooth connectivity to support the safe movement of goods and services for economic growth," it stated.

The ongoing heavy rains have affected numerous roads across the country, prompting repairs and cautionary measures for road users.

On Tuesday, the highways authority issued a traffic advisory for travelers on the Kampi ya Moto-Eldama Ravine (B77) road due to the Rongai River flooding the Rongai junction along the route.

Additionally, a cautionary notice was issued for those using the Garsen-Witu-Lamu (A7) Road, specifically between Idsowe (Tana River Bridge) and Gamba/Lango la Simba, as rising water levels in the Tana River have led to flooding of fields along the roadway.
