Gospel singer Stephen Kasolo in merry after Peninah Malonza was appointed by President William Ruto as the new Tourism CS, taking over from Najib Balala.

In a celebration held in Kitui the 'Niacheni na Yesu' singer glorified God and many residents showed up to celebrate the victory.

The  celebrated singer also went to social media to flaunt photos of him and Malonza as he joined Kitui residents in the merry moment.

In a heartfelt message Kasolo expressed his joy at her appointment and thanked God for the victory. 

He also pledged to give his full support to one of the 10 women picked by Ruto for his cabinet on Tuesday Evening.

The controversial Kamba musician  also penned a  congratulatory message on his Facebook page where members of the Kamba community also joined in the same.

"Congratulations Mum Peninah Malonza - CS, Tourism. . Kweli Mungu halali. Wema ni akiba tujifunze kutenda wema wapendwa. Kyo kii nikyaneneva mwa."

Malonza served as the Deputy Governor of Kitui County between 2013 and 2017 where she was deputizing Kitui County’s first governor Julius Malombe.

Will she be able to maintain and better the earnings in the tourism industry? Her predecessor Najib Balala predicted that a full recovery would be achieved as from 2023-2024.

It is also A proud moment for the marginalised Kitui South area given that Kitui North has always taken the glory when it comes to cabinet appointments.

Ms. Malonza is one of only two ministers from the Ukambani region.
