Outgoing Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala bows out after serving in political seats and Government positions for the last 24 years.
While congratulating President William Ruto on unveiling his Cabinet on Tuesday evening, he said that he is honoured to have served Kenyans for over two decades.
"Congratulations to President Dr. @WilliamsRuto on unveiling your New Cabinet Team. I am honoured to have served my country for the past 24 years, since being Mombasa Mayor, in 1998, to now serving as the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife."
Balala started his political career as the Mombasa Mayor in 1998, then represented Mvita Constituency as Member of Parliament from December 2002 - March 2013.
Balala added that he welcomes the appointment of Hon. Peninah Malonza as the new Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage.
"I welcome the appointment of Hon. Peninah Malonza as the New Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage. You have my full support. God Bless Kenya."
Balala becomes the longest-serving Minister in the Kenyan Government having served 24 years in service, with 17 years as a Minister, of which 12 years as the Minister of Tourism.
